PRP Hair Restoration

PRP treatment is a non-invasive regrowth treatment for people who suffer for hair loss that uses your blood

PRP Hair Restoration

Over the years, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment has been making headlines. By now, you’re probably familiar with, or at least have heard of the “vampire facial,” a skin treatment that uses your own blood to help facilitate a glowing, youthful complexion. What you probably haven’t heard of is that there’s a similar treatment for hair loss, and yes, it requires your blood, too.

The PRP is a part of your blood with a high concentration of platelets. The platelets (or thrombocytes) are very rich in growth factors, stimulating cell activity when applied to the skin. In more details: our blood is comprised of blood cells (red blood cells – erythrocytes, white blood cells – leukocytes, platelets, or thrombocytes) and its liquid part – plasma. By removing red and white blood cells and concentrating platelets in a small amount of plasma, we receive Platelet Rich Plasma or PRP.

As we mentioned, platelets contain large amounts of different growth factors, which essentially act as energy boots for our skin. It helps to optimize and stimulate skin cells function.

Now. Are you looking for a cure to improve your hair? We have been using PRP for facial rejuvenation with wonderful results. So, it is not a surprise, we can use this therapy to work on your thinning or lost hair. It naturally stimulates the activity of the hair follicles and promotes new hair growth. You see, PRP might work for you!

At Revitta, we will make sure that the treatment works when it comes to hair rejuvenation and re-growth. And another good thing about this treatment is: it’s 100% natural and has no side effects.

PRP treatment uses your own body’s blood cells. There is no risk of an allergic reaction.

Because PRP treatment does not involve any surgery, you should experience only minor discomfort, similar to undergoing blood work at your routine doctor’s appointment.

There is no downtime or recovery with PRP hair treatment. You can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure.

This treatment is effective for many patients, and you begin to notice the results in about three months after your first procedure.

More About PRP Hair Loss Treatment

The PRP hair restoration is a straightforward process and usually takes about 30-40 minutes of your valuable time. Don’t anticipate spending a whole day in the office … (unless you choose to!)

First, our medical aesthetician takes 20 ccs of your blood in a special PRP tube. The same way you have it done in your doctor’s office when you need a blood test. 20 cc is about one tablespoon, so it does not have any negative impact on your health.

Step two is to place the tube into a centrifuge. You have seen the machine in a movie or in a hospital that spins very quickly. OK, that’s the kind of machine we use. The spinning process separates the blood components. And in 15 minutes we get what we need – platelet-rich plasma or PRP.

Then medical aesthetician withdraws separated plasma into a syringe ready for injection. The third and final step is injecting PRP into your scalp. Using a syringe with a tiny needle, we inject PRP into your scalp. When injecting the PRP, we pay a special attention to the problem areas. The process is meticulous: injections are placed across the scalp, approximately at every half inch over the area of thinning hair. But typically, this part of the procedure takes less than a half-hour.

We always apply a numbing cream to the area treated to make your experience as painless as possible. Also, we can offer other pain management options. We want to be sure that you, our patient, is comfortable during the whole treatment process. So, if you’re the type of person who fears needles, you shouldn’t be worried. You are in good hands.

PRP is an absolutely natural hair restoration treatment. We use the patient’s own blood cells, so there are no potential side effects or risks involved.

PRP procedure is performed under sterile conditions. It eliminates any risk of infection.

After treatment, you might experience a slight burning sensation. A warm shower relieves this discomfort and promotes scalp blood circulation, which improves results.

Do not expect any downtime. PRP treatment doesn’t hinder you from keeping on with your usual daily routine!

Who is a candidate for treatment?

PRP hair restoration can be successfully used for both men and women. The best candidates for treatment are people who recently have started to lose hair. Scientific research proves it. Are you experiencing gradual hair loss over a couple of years? PRP can be effective as well. It works well in treating androgenic alopecia – a condition affecting both women and men. And it is also effective for women with “traction alopecia” – hair thinning caused by certain hair stylings, like heavy hair extensions and tight ponytails.

Unfortunately, PRP will not restore hair loss resulted from certain medical conditions such as liver disease, lupus, and hypothyroidism. Yet, PRP helps to restore hair loss caused by stress or the onset of a sudden illness.

PRP will not work for anyone who is completely bald and needs to fully restore lost hair.

As with any medical condition, the earlier you seek treatment, the better is expected outcome.

When do you expect to see results?

Getting your healthy hair back using PRP isn’t a one-stop job. It requires consistency for good results. At Revitta, we perform treatments at least once a month for the first three to four months. By following this simple protocol, most of our patients can see results within two-three months after the first procedure. The first thing you note is decreased hair shedding, followed by hair regrowth and increased hair length. After the initial program, we recommend maintenance treatments – one session every six months, to ensure ongoing scalp and hair follicles health.
